Welcome to the Blog!

Hello and welcome to the QL2 Blog!Rose headshot My name is Rose and I am the Costume Designer for Quantum Leap in 2012.

Our first production for the year ‘Me Right Now’ will be on from 9–12 May at The Playhouse, Canberra Theatre. Through this site I will be blogging about the process of taking the performance to the stage, and you will be able to follow our progress as we move towards production week. We will be talking to the dancers and the people behind all the elements of the production so that you are able to get a great picture of what goes on here at QL2 Dance Inc.

I am very excited about being involved with QL2 this year. The problem solving that is required to design and make costumes that are functional for dance is challenging, and is really extending my design knowledge. We are mid-costume-production at the moment, and will be having working bees to get all the major sewing done. It’s fantastic having sketches that I have been working on come to life in real fabric form, knowing that the performers will soon be leaping and dancing in them.

About Rose

Design intern Rose Montgomery is a Canberra girl, and has been drawing and designing for as long as she can remember. Singing, dancing and acting in musicals through her years at Lyneham High, being a trombonist in the ACT IMP bands and attending QL2 performances every year, have shaped Rose’s ambitions for the future. In 2011 she finished Year 12 at Narrabundah College, majoring in Textiles and Design, Visual Art, Photography and English. During college Rose did work experience placements with stage management at the Sydney Opera House, and with designers at Peckvonhartel Architecture firm. In 2013 she intends to study a Bachelor of Design in Interior and Spatial Design/Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at University of Technology, Sydney.
